The Effect of Follow-up Activities through Fantasy Picture Books on Young Children's Language expression ability and Emotional Intelligence

본 연구는 환상그림책을 활용한 후속 활동이 유아의 언어표현력 및 정서지능에 미치는 효과를 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 G시 만 5세 유치원 유아 50명(실험집단 25명, 비교집단 25명)을 대상으로 하였으며 실험집단은 환상그림책을 활용한 등장인물에 대한 일기, 편지쓰기, 신문/광고 만들기, 자서전 꾸미기, 등장인물 단평, 가상하기의 후속활동을 실시하였고, 비교집단은 환상그림책을 활용한 일반 이야기나누기활동을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 환상그림책을 활용한 후속활동 집단이 유아의 언어표현력 중 창의적 표현을 제외한 단어 수, 문장 수, 내용일치, 내용연계 능력 부분에서 유의하게 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 둘째, 환상그림책을 활용한 후속활동 집단이 유아의 정서지능 부분에서 유의하게 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 즉, 환상그림책을 활용한 후속 활동은 유아의 언어표현력 및 정서지능에 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of follow-up activities through fantasy picture books on young children's language expression ability and emotional intelligence. The subjects of this study were 50 five-year-old children, specifically, 25 students at 'J' kindergarten (the experiment group) and 25 students at 'B' kindergarten (the comparison group) in G city.
The result of this study showed that there were a significant difference in young children's language expression ability and emotional intelligence between the experiment and the comparison groups. This findings suggest that the follow-up activities through fantasy picture books can improve young children's language expression ability and emotional intelligence.
