초록
본 연구의 목적은 한부모 여성의 공동체 적응 과정과 참여 경험의 본질적인 의미구조를 이해하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 공동체에 참여하고 있는 11명의 한부모 여성들과의 심층면접을 통한 현상학적 연구방법으로 한부모 여성들의 공동체 참여 과정의 일련의 단계들과 그 과정에서 경험한 이슈들을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 한부모 여성들이 경험해 온 공동체 참여의 본질적 주제는 8가지 주제로 통합되었는데, ‘세상에 혼자 내동댕이쳐짐: 세상과 단절되고 거리두기’, ‘생활고를 버티다 세상 밖으로 나오기: 공동체와 연결’, ‘낯설고 서먹한 만남: 마음 바꾸기’, ‘또 다른 ‘나’들과 식구되기: 유사가족공동체의 탄생’, ‘사는데 급급해서 들락날락 하게 됨: 고달픈 일상으로 흔들리는 공동체’, ‘모르는 척 할 수 없음: 공동체에 대한 의리 지키기’, ‘나도 귀한 사람: 존재의 질적 전환’, ‘나누고 보텔 수 있는 우리: 공동체와 사회에 대한 상호 호혜성’으로 분석되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 근거로 공동체 참여 경험의 함의와 정책적, 실천적 방안들을 제안하였다.
The purpose of this study is to understand the essence of single mothers’ community participation experience. 11 single mothers, who participate in various community programs, have been interviewed. Data has been qualitatively analyzed in terms of the process of adaptation and changes in their life participating of the community and the issues from their experiences. From the study 8 themes, ‘threw out alone into the world; shutting down and keeping a distance from the world’, ‘crawling out to the world to get rid of poverty; connection with community’, ‘facing the unfamiliar and unfriendly; changing mind’, ‘becoming a new family member among another “me”s; the genesis of a quasi-family community’, ‘in and out due to the desperate living situation: shaking community from uneasy daily living’, ‘unable to ignore: keeping fidelity to the community’, ‘precious me; qualitative transformation of the existence, extended self’, ‘us to share: reciprocity to community and society’ have revealed. Based on those results the practical and political implications discussed.
