이 연구는 한국형 다문화수용성척도(KMCI)를 활용하여 어린이집에 근무하는 보육교사와 대학에 재학 중인 예비교사들의 다문화수용성지수(KMAI)를 조사·분석하여 보육교사와 예비교사 대상의 다문화교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료로 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 경기도 김포시와 안산시에 소재한 34개 어린이집에 근무하는 보육교사 500명과 동일 지역에 소재한 3개 전문대학의 유아교육과 및 아동보육 관련 학과에 재학 중인 예비교사 500명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 그 결과를 분석하였다. 분석결과 보육교사와 예비교사의 KMAI, 수용성 차원 및 하위 구성요소별 수용성이 일반 국민들에 비하여 높게 나타났으며, 또한 현직 보육교사가 예비교사에 비하여 KMAI가 높게 나타났다. 또한 보육교사와 예비교사 모두 다문화 관련 교육 프로그램을 이수한 집단이 이수하지 않은 집단에 비하여 KMAI가 높게 나타났다.
This study analyzed the understanding of and attitude toward the multi-culture shown by the in-service child care teachers working at a child care center and the pre-service teachers who are at college using the KMCI, and aims at providing the analysis results as the basic data for multi-cultural education program development for child care teachers and pre-service teachers. In an effort to fulfill such a purpose, this study conducted a questionnaire survey of 500 child care teachers working at 34 child care centers located at Gimpo city and Ansan city in Gyeonggi-do, and 500 pre-service teachers who are taking a course in Early Childhood Education and Childcare-related studies at 3 junior colleges in the same region as above.
As a result of the research, it was found that KMAI of child-care teachers, and pre-service teachers stayed at a higher level in comparison with the general public, and day care teachers were higher than pre-service teachers in KMAI. In addition, the day care teachers who received the multi-culture-related teacher training session were found to be higher in KMAI than the teachers who didn’t, and even in case of the pre-service teachers, the group that completed the multi-culture-related education was found to be also higher in KMAI than the group that didn’t.
