본 논문의 목적은 우리 사회의 ‘나눔’에 관한 새로운 개념을 정립하고, 나눔 현황을 대변할 수 있는 종합지수를 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 나눔에 대한 대안적 개념에 기초하여 기부, 자원봉사, 생명나눔, 상호부조, 사회적 참여, 네트워크를 포괄하는 종합지수를 구성·제시하고, 2011년과 2013년의 16개 광역 시·도별 나눔 수준을 비교하였다. 나눔지수는 기부지수, 핵심지수, 부가지수의 세 가지 지수로 구성하여 제시하였다. 연구 결과, 2013년 한국의 나눔 종합지수는 기부지수 6.05, 핵심지수 6.14, 부가지수 6.01 수준이며, 이는 2011년에 비해 다소 증가한 수준이다. 시·도별 변화를 살펴보면, 울산과 전북을 제외한 모든 지역에서 나눔지수가 증가하였으며, 경기와 경남의 증가세가 부각되고 있다. 본 연구는 연구의 과정을 통해, 우리 사회의 나눔실태와 수준을 상징적으로 확인하였으며, 나눔문화의 확산에 직·간접적인 기여를 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
The main purpose of this study is to establish a new concept of ‘Nanum’ of our society and to develop a composite indicator that can represent the ‘Nanum’ status of Korea. A composite indicator encompasses donation, volunteering, blood or organ donation, mutual aid, social participation and network. It can be divided by ‘Giving’ index, ‘Core’ Index, and ‘Expanded’ index. As a result of analysis, ‘Nanum’ indicators of Korea in 2013 were 6.05 for ‘Giving’, 6.14 for ‘Core’ and 6.01 for ‘Expanded’ Index which are slightly increased compared to those of 2011. All three indicators in every province are increased, except Ulsan and Jeonbuk. This study identifies the symbolic status and level of ‘Nanum’ in our society, and is looking forward to being able to contribute to the spread of the culture of ‘Nanum’ using these indicators.
