본 연구는 휴대폰을 사용한 청소년 자녀의 생활 모니터링과 부모역할 효능감이 부모가 지각한 자녀의 문제행동에 미치는 영향을 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 영남권 3개 지역(대구, 울산, 부산)에 거주하는 청소년 자녀를 둔 30대에서 50대 연령의 어머니 179명이다. 청소년 자녀에 대한 모니터링 여부를 알아보기 위한 척도는 Weisskirch(2009)이 사용한 청소년에 대한 부모 모니터링 척도를 임순선(2010)이 번안하여 재구성한 총22문항의 ‘부모 모니터링 척도’이며, 부모역할 효능감을 측정하기 위한 도구는 Gibaud와 Wander sman(1978)이 개발한 8개 문항의 양육 효능감 척도를 구계희(2009), 김미숙(2005) 등이 번안하여 사용한 것을 재사용하였다. 그리고 자녀의 문제행동에 대한 부모의 지각을 알아보기 위한 척도는 선행연구에 기초하여 7개의 문항으로 된 간편 문제행동 척도를 이용하였다. 수집된 자료는 중다회귀분석과 ANOVA를 적용하여 분석되었다. 연구결과에 따르면, 부모가
40대와 50대인 집단이 30대 집단보다 자녀의 문제행동 평균득점이 높게 나타났다. 또한 모니터링의 전체득점과 하위요인인 학교생활, 훈육지도, 일상생활과 부모역할 효능감은 문제행동과 통계적으로 유의미한 부적 상관이 있으며, 설명력 또한 유의미한 것으로 나타났다.
즉 부모의 모니터링 및 부모역할 효능감 득점이 높을수록 문제행동 득점은 유의미하게 낮아졌다. 이와 같은 결과에 근거하여 휴대폰을 이용한 모니터링의 긍정적 기능을 확인할 수 있었으며, 부모역할 효능감과의 상호작용 가능성도 확인할 수 있었다. 청소년 자녀의 문제행동 개입을 감소시키는데 있어서 부모의 모니터링 활동 및 부모역할 효능감의 중요성 및 효과가 더욱 폭넓게 연구될 필요가 있음을 논의하였다
The purpose of this study is to research the effects of monitoring of adolescents with cell phones and parenting efficacy on the problem behaviors recognized by parents. 179 mothers of adolescents in their 50s living in three cities of South Gyeongsang Province(Daegu, Ulsan and Busan) were surveyed for this study. The tool to measure the parental monitoring of adolescentswhich had been used for the study of Weisskirch(2009) was translated and redesigned into 22 questions by Lim(2010) to assess the parental monitoring of adolescents. The 8 questions which had been made by Koo Kye-hee(2009) and Kim Mi-sook(2005) based on the Development and Utility of the Parenting efficacy of Competence Scale of Gibaud and Wandersman(1978) were used to assess the parenting sense. A simple scale on problem behavior which consists of 7 questions was applied to assess the parental recognition of problem behavior of children based on the preliminary study. The multi-regressional analysis and ANOVA test were performed on the responses from the survey. The results of analysis showed that the parents in their 40s and 50s had significantly higher average scores in the problem behavior of children than those in their 30s. The total scores on monitoring and other subcategorical variables such as school life, moral education, everyday life and parenting efficacy were found out to have statistically
significant negative correlations with problem behaviors, which was significantly persuasive according to the survey. The higher the total scores of monitoring and parenting efficacy were, the statistically lower the level of problem behaviors were. The survey results demonstrated that the monitoring of adolescents through cell phones have positive aspects on adolescents and interactions with parenting efficacy. The parental monitoring activities and the importance and effects of parenting efficacy to reduce the problem behaviors of adolescents need to be studied further.
