청소년 음주와 비행은 공통요인들에 의해서 발생한다는 관점에 기초하고 있는 본 연구는 다양한 잠재적 공통요인들과 청소년 음주 및 비행과의 관계를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 공통요인으로는 부모관련 요인(부모-자녀간 정서적 유대, 부모감독, 부모의 음주문제), 친구관련 요인(친구의 음주, 비행을 경험한 친구의 비율), 대중매체(TV 시청 정도), 개인적 요인(대처기술, 의사결정기술, 충동성)을 고려하였다. 서울시에 거주하는 818명의 남·여 중학생들이 본 조사에 참여하였다. 음주와 비행간의 상관관계분석결과 두 행동간에 정적인 관계(r=.19)가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 단계식 회귀분석결과에서 음주와 비행은 각각을 예측하지 못하거나 예측을 하더라도 매우 미미한 정도였다. 또한 잠재적 공통요인들을 통제한 회귀분석 결과에서도 음주와 비행이 각각을 설명하는 정도가 매우 낮고 통계적으로도 유의미하지 않았다. 이러한 연구결과는 음주가 비행을 또는 비행이 음주를 유발하는 관점이 아니라 청소년 음주와 비행은 공통요인들에 의해서 발생한다는 관점을 지지하였다. 공통요인들 중에서 두 가지 친구관련 요인들(비행을 경함한 친구비율, 친한 친구의 음주빈도)이 청소년 음주 및 비행과 매우 밀접한 관계를 보였다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 한 가지 이상의 청소년 문제행동을 동시에 다루는 개입프로그램을 개발하고 운영할 것을 제안하고 있다.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of factors common to both adolescents' alcohol use and delinquency. Common factors considered in this study include parents-related factors(affective relationship and parental supervision), friend-related factors(friend's alcohol use and delinquency), mass media, and individual characteristics and skills(coping skills, decision-making skills, impulsivity). A total of 818 middle school students in Seoul participated in this study. The major finding is that adolescents' alcohol use and delinquency are predicted by common factors. In particular, friend-related factors strongly predicted both adolescents' alcohol use and delinquency. Based upon the finding, this study suggests to develop prevention programs to deal with both adolescents' alcohol use and delinquency.
