현대사회는 과학, 의학의 발달과 평균수명의 증가로 급속한 고령화가 진행되고있다. 그러나 가족제도의 변화로 청소년들이 노인을 접할 기회는 별로 없으며 청소년이 노인에 대해 배울 기회는 간접적으로 교육 등을 통해서 이루어진다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 서울과 대구, 경북지역의 대학생들의 노인연령인지와 노화인지에 관한 연구로 조부모의 동거여부, 노인관련과목 수강여부가 노인에 대한 인지에 영향을 미쳤는지를 조사하였다. 연구결과에 의하면 노인관련수업 수강여부는 노인연령인지 및 노화인지에 유의미한 차이를 보이고 있으며 조부모와의 동거경험이나 현재 동거는 유의미한 차이를 보이고 있지않다. 또한 조부모와의 동거경험이나 노인관련과목 수강은 노화인지에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나고 있다.
Aging is proceeded rapidly due to the development of modern science, modern technology and the increase of life expectancy. However, the change of family system takes out the opportunity for younger generations to get together with older generations such as grandparents. The only way for younger generations to learn about older adults is through school education. This research tries to find whether the experience of coresidence of grandparents in the past, present and taking courses of older adults affect the perception of old age and aging. The research results indicate that taking courses about older adults affect the difference of perception of old age and aging. However, there is no difference between the experience of coresidence of grandparent on the perception of old age and aging. Also, the experience of coresidence of grandparents and taking courses of older adults affect the perception of aging positively.
