A Study on the Communicational Ability and Emotional Development of Infants in Relation to the Infants' Characteristics Variables and Maternal Characteristics Variables
본 연구의 목적은 영아의 의사소통능력과 정서발달과 관련된 영아특성변인과 어머니 특성변인을 확인하여 영아발달에 적극적인 도움을 줄 수 있는 변인간의 관계를 밝히는데 있다. 선행연구를 토대로 영아특성변인으로 성, 연령, 출생순위, 기질을 선정하였고, 어머니 특성변인으로는 양육효능감, 양육행동, 애착, 부모역할을 선정하였다. 연구대상은 경기도와 수원시에서 지원하는 지역사회 서비스 프로그램에 참가하고 있는 만 1, 2세 영아와 그들의 어머니 67쌍이었고, 영아의 의사소통능력과 정서발달은 교사가 평정하였고, 영아특성변인과 어머니 특성변인은 어머니가 평정하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0을 이용하여 분석되었는데, 먼저, 연구대상 및 변인간의 관계를 확인하기 위해 빈도분석 및 상관분석을 하였고, 다음으로 의사소통능력과 정서발달에 미치는 영아특성변인 및 어머니특성변인의 영향력을 검증하기 위해 중다회귀분석을 하였다. 연구결과는 영아의 특성변인 중에는 성, 연령, 기질이 영아의 의사소통능력 및 정서발달과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났고, 어머니의 특성변인 중에는 양육효능감, 양육행동, 애착 및 부모역할이 영아의 의사소통능력 및 정서발달과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 영아의 성과 연령, 기질의 적응성, 긍정적인 기분은 영아의 의사소통능력 및 정서발달에 있어서 상대적으로 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 어머니의 특성변인 중에서는 양육효능감, 양육행동, 애착이 영아의 의사소통능력 및 정서발달에 상대적으로 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among infants' communicational ability, emotional development, infants' variables and maternal variables. Even though there are lots of variables to have an effect on the infants' development, we have paid attention to the infants' and maternal relationship. So we collected and examined their's relationship. The subject of this study were sixty-seven mothers and their 1- to 2-year-old infants who lived in Suwon City. We used Child Development Scale(CDS), Toddler Temperament Questionnaire(TTQ), Parenting Behavior Scale, Toddler Care Questionnaire, Perceived Parenting Competence(PPC), and Attachment Scale to measure. The collected data was analyzed by percentages, means, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression between infants' and maternal variables with SPSS Program 18.0.
As a result, 1 and 2-year-old infants' and their maternal variables showed significantly strong relationship between them. Especially, infants' sex, age, temperament were related infants' communicational ability and emotional development. Second parenting efficacy, parenting behavior, attachment, and parenting competence were related infants' communicational ability and emotional development. Third, the effect of infants' sex, age, temperament on infants' communicational ability and emotional development were more influential than any other infants' variables. Finally, the effect of maternal parenting efficacy, parenting behavior, attachment on infants' communicational ability and emotional development were more influential than any other maternal variables.
