본 연구는 아날로그세대이지만 디지털시대의 경계에 살고 있는 인구 712만의 거대 집단인 베이비붐세대들의 적응역량이 디지털기기를 활용하는 환경에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보았다. 이론적인 틀로는 Rawton(1982)의 환경적응역량모델(Competence-Environmental Press Model of Adaptation)이 사용되었다. 연구결과에 의하면 성별과 직업유무에 따라 적응역량인 자기효능감, 정보화에 대한 자신감, 정보화의 효과에 대한 인지는 유의한 차이를 보이고 있다. 또한 적응역량인 자기효능감, 정보화에 대한 자신감, 정보화의 효과에 대한 인지에 따른 디지털기기 접근, 디지털기기를 활용한 의사소통, 디지털기기 활용능력에는 모두 유의한 차이가 있었다. 적응역량이 디지털기기활용에 영향을 미치는 위계적 회귀분석에서는 자기효능감, 정보화에 대한 자신감, 정보화의 효과에 대한 인지는 디지털기기 접근에 모두 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 자기효능감과 정보화에 대한 자신감은 디지털기기를 활용한 의사소통에 유의한 영향을 미쳤고 디지털기기 활용능력에는 자기효능감 만이 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 환경적응역량으로는 자기효능감이 가장 중요한 영향요인으로 작용하였다.
This study examined the effect of 7,120 thousand babyboomers' adaptation abilities on the use of information technology who live in the borderline of the digital and analog period. As a theoretical framework, Rawton's(1991) Competence-Environmental Press Model of Adaptation was used. The research results indicated that there were gender and job differences of self-efficacy, confidence in the use of information technology and the recognition of the effect of digital life. Also, there were differences in the approach of information technology, communication through the information technology and the ability of using information technology by self-efficacy, confidence of the use of information technology and the recognition of the effect of digital life. The results of the hierarchical regression indicated that self-efficacy, confidence of the use of information technology and the recognition of the effect of digital life affected on the approach of information technology in a statistically significant level. Also, self-efficacy and confidence in the use of information technology affected on the communication through the information technology in a statistically significant level. Finally, only self-efficacy affected on the Ability of using information technology in a statistically significant level.
