The Effects on The Retired Elder's Life Satisfaction of Decision Type for Retirement and Preparedness for Aging

본 연구의 주요 목적은 은퇴결정 형태와 노후준비가 은퇴 고령자의 생활만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 그 함의를 논의하는 것이다. 분석 자료는 국민노후보장패널에서 56-70세 사이 고령자 1,313명을 최종 분석대상으로 삼았다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 은퇴자발성은 경제적 측면의 생활만족도에는 정적 영향을 주지만 건강 생활만족도나 전반적 생활만족도에는 전혀 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 노후준비는 경제적 측면의 생활만족도와 전반적 생활 측면의 만족도에 유의하게 큰 영향을 주지만 건강측면의 생활만족도에는 전혀 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 이상의 연구결과는 자발적인 은퇴와 노후준비가 은퇴 고령자의 생활만족도 유형에 따라 다르게 영향을 미치는 것을 확인시켜준다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 고령자의 생활만족도를 증진시키기 위한 은퇴준비프로그램을 설계할 때 고령자의 생활만족도 유형을 고려하여야 한다는 정책적 시사점을 제공한다.
The purpose of this study is to analyse the effects on the retired elder's life satisfaction of the decision type for retirement and the preparedness for aging empirically and then to discuss implications for the findings. Data from 3 wave of Korean Retirement and Income Study(KReIS) in 2009 were used in this study. From this dataset, available data for 1,313 elders aged between 56 and 70 were selected for this study. The results of analysis are summarized as follows. First, the voluntary retirement of the retired elder have positive effects on their economic life satisfaction significantly but no effect on retired elders' life satisfaction for health or total life satisfaction. Second, the preparedness for aging of the retired elder have positive effects on their economic life satisfaction and total life satisfaction significantly but no effect on retired elders' life satisfaction for health. In conclusion, it is found that the decision type for retirement and the preparedness for aging affect differently by life satisfaction type of the retired elder. In the context, this study suggests that policy makers have to reflect the life satisfaction type of the elders when they design retirement preparation programs to improve the life satisfaction type of the retired elders.
