초록

이 연구는 여성을 중심으로 지역사회 복지 증진의 중요한 요소로 고려되는 지역사회참여 행위에 지역사회환경이 미치는 영향을 살펴보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 수원시 여성 388명을 대상으로 방문조사를 실시하여 개인수준변수를 수집하였다. 또한 여성이 거주하는 동단위의 사회지표를 바탕으로 지역수준변수를 수집하였다. 개인수준의 변수를 통제한 뒤, 여성의 지역사회 참여에 미치는 지역 환경 변수의 영향을 분석하기 위하여 다층모형분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 저소득층 비율이 동에 거주하는 여성일수록 지역사회참여가 활발할 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 연령이 높고 취업하지 않으며 공동체의식이 높은 여성일수록 지역사회참여가 활발할 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 여성의 지역사회참여를 촉진시키기 위한 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

This study examines the contributing factors of influencing community participation which facilitates community welfare. A total of 388 women in Suwon city was interviewed and their individual-level data were collected by the door-to-door survey. Community-level data were collected by the social indicators of residential district of the study participants. Controlling the individual-level variables, Hierarchical Generalized Linear Model was employed in order to analyze the effect of community-level variables on community participation among women. The study found that women who live in the community with a higher percentage of the low-class population were more likely to participate in the community organizations. In addition, women who are older, not employed and have a higher level of sense of community were more likely to participate in the community organizations. Suggestions addressed the strategies to facilitate community participation among women.
