Validation of A Korean Version of the POSIT PRS to Measure Peer Relations of Adolescents who Drink Alcohol or Smoke Cigarettes

기존의 청소년 음주 및 흡연 관련 연구들에서 또래관계는 다소 단순하고 비표준화된 방법으로 측정되었기 때문에 측정내용이 제한적이고 측정결과를 직접 비교하는 데 한계가 있었다.
본 연구는 기존의 측정방법이 갖는 한계를 보완해줄 수 있는 도구로 Problem OrientedScreening Instrument for Teenagers Peer Relations Scale(POSIT PRS)을선택하고 POSIT PRS의 한국어판을 평가하는 데 목적을 두었다. 한국어판 POSIT PRS는 700여 명의 중ㆍ고등학생을 대상으로 평가되었으며 그 결과는 양호하였다. 첫째, 확인적 요인분석에서 한국어판 POSIT PRS는 영어판과 마찬가지로 단일 요인으로 이루어진척도임이 확인되었고, 조사대상자를 중학생과 고등학생으로 구분한 후 각 집단을 대상으로실시된 분석에서도 한국어판 POSIT PRS의 모형적합도는 매우 양호하였다. 둘째, 한국어판 POSIT PRS의 Cronbach’s α 는 전체 조사대상자를 대상으로 계산했을 때와 학교급별로 구분해서 계산했을 때 모두 .60 이상으로 나타나 한국어판 POSIT PRS의 신뢰도는양호한 수준이었다. 한국어판 POSIT PRS는 유사한 개념을 측정하는 기존 도구와 양(+)의 상관관계를 가졌고 관계의 크기 또한 보통 이상이었으며 이론적 변수들과도 예견된관계를 보였다. 또한, 한국어판 POSIT PRS의 총점 1점을 기준으로 조사대상자를 또래관계 문제가 없는 집단과 또래관계 문제가 있는 집단으로 구분했을 때, 또래관계 문제가 있는집단에서 현재음주자와 현재흡연자가 압도적으로 많아 한국어판 POSIT PRS가 음주 또는흡연 청소년을 구분하는 능력은 양호하였다. 이상의 평가결과에 따르면, 한국어판 POSITPRS는 음주 또는 흡연 청소년의 또래관계를 측정하기에 적합한 도구라고 할 수 있다.
In previous studies on adolescent drinking and smoking, peer relations have beenmeasured in simple and unstandardized ways. The aim of this study is to validate theKorean version of the Problem Oriented Screening Instrument for Teenagers PeerRelations Scale(POSIT PRS). The Korean version of the POSIT PRS was validatedwith a sample of 702 adolescents. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed that theKorean version of the POSIT PRS like the English version is an unidimensionalinstrument. The Korean version of the POSIT PRS showed high internal consistencyreliability and good convergent validity. Also, the Korean version of the POSIT PRSwas able to differentiate adolescents who drink(smoke) at least once in the past 30 daysand those who do not drink or smoke during the same period. The Korean version of thePOSIT PRS is a reliable and valid instrument for measuring peer relations ofadolescents who drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes.
