본 연구는 보육시설을 이용하고 있는 다문화 가정 부모들을 대상으로 어린이집에 대한 기대와 문제의식을 명확히 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 다문화 가정 부모 59명을 대상으로 설문조사한 결과, 다음과 주요 문제와 기대가 나타났다. 자녀의 보육시설 이용에 있어 비용의 문제, 자녀의 입학에 관한 설명이나 서류의 이해가 어렵다는 점, 어린이집 선생님과의 대화와 상담에 대한 기대가 강하다는 점, 외국인과 외국문화에 대한 이해와 존중, 그리고 자녀양육정보의 제공과 육아상담의 필요성이 절실한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 통해 보육시설이나 행정당국이 다문화 가정의 이런 현실적인 문제를 해결하기 위한 지원체제의 확립과 다문화 가정과 보육시설과의 긴밀한 교류와 협력체제가 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있다.
This study aimed to clarify the multi-cultural parents' expectations and needs about child care in day-care center. To gain this aims, this study investigated by a questionnaire, and subjects were 49 multi-cultural parents. Their child is attending day-care center. Results of investigation showed various issues as follows; Financial problems in their child entering, the application forms or documents necessary for entering the day-care center is impossible to read, expectation to communicate with teacher more time, respecting parents' culture and language, and supporting for consultations for child-rearing. Based on the results, the study suggests that supporting multi-cultural family required closer cooperation systems between multi-cultural parents and day-care center.
