이 연구는 지역사회 환경이 사회복지종사자의 소진에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보는 데 주된 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서 전국 지역아동센터시설장을 대상으로 온라인 설문을 실시하여, 총 603명의 응답설문을 분석하였다.
연구 결과, 지역사회환경 변인이 사회복지종사자의 소진에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 자신이 근무하는 지역사회 내에 주민 간 유대감이 높으며, 지역사회내의 무질서 수준이 낮다고 인식할수록, 업무에서의 정서적 탈진이 낮고, 일에서의 개인적인 성취감이 높을 뿐만 아니라 클라이언트와의 관계에서도 우호적인 것으로 드러났다. 이 연구는 기존연구들에서 사회복지종사자의 소진의 영향 요인으로서 개인적ㆍ조직적 요인만을 집중적으로 탐색하였는데, 지역사회환경 변인도 중요한 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 검증하였다는 의의를 갖는다.
The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between community environment characteristics and burnout among the social workers. The online survey was conducted for the managers of community children centers. A total of 603 respondents were analyzed for this study.
The result showed that community environment characteristics have a significant effect on the burnout of social workers. Respondents who perceived a higher tie between residents and the low level of the community disorder in the community in which they are working, reported a lower level of emotional exhaustion at work, a higher level of achievement at work, as well as a more favorable relationships with clients. This study suggested that community is an important contributor to burnout among social workers.
