장애인거주시설 사회복지사의 클라이언트 폭력 경험: Van Kaam의 현상학적 연구방법을 중심으로

본 연구는 장애인거주시설 사회복지사가 겪는 클라이언트로부터의 폭력 경험의 본질과 의미를 심층적으로 이해하기 위해 Van Kaam의 현상학적 분석방법을 활용하였다. 장애인거주시설에서 5년 이상의 근무 경력을 가지고 있는 사회복지사 14명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시한 결과, 56개의 부주제와 13개의 주제가 도출되었다. 이는 최종적으로 ‘미흡한 현실에서 한 발짝 더 나아가기를 희망하는 목소리’, ‘고통으로 다가오는 심각한 폭력 경험’, ‘깊어지는 마음의 상처’, ‘살아남기 위한 고군분투’, ‘그럼에도 견뎌내게 하는 원동력’이라는 5개의 범주 순으로 경험하고 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 향후 장애인 관련 실천현장에서 종사하는 사회복지사의 안전과 권익향상을 위해 사회복지적 차원의 제언을 제시하였다.
This study used Van Kaam’s phenomenological method of analysis to gain in-depth understanding of the nature and meaning of client violence experienced by social workers in residential facilities for the disabled. As a result of conducting in-depth interviews with 14 social workers with more than 5 years of work experience in residential facilities for the disabled, 56 sub-themes and 13 themes were identified. In the end, it was found that social workers are experiencing client violence as the following five categories: ‘a voice hoping to take one step further from the inadequate reality’, ‘serious experience of violence that is painful’, ‘hurt feelings getting worse’, ‘struggle to survive’, and ‘a driving force that leads to survival nonetheless’. were experienced in the order of categories. Based on these findings, suggestions from the social welfare dimension were made for the improvement of safety, rights, and interests of social workers engaged in practice fields related to the disabled in the future.
