본 연구는 호스피스자원봉사자의 성격특성이 자원봉사참여와 지속의지에 미치는 영향에 대한 자원봉사동기의 매개효과에 대하여 가설적 모형을 제시 및 검증하여, 호스피스 자원봉사자 참여활성화 방안모색을 위한 이론적 근거를 제시하고자 하였다. 조사는 2007년 한국호스피스협회 추계학술대회 참석 자원봉사자 200명과 5개 호스피스 기관의 자원봉사자 132명을 대상으로 진행되었다.
연구결과를 요약하면 자원봉사 동기(보호동기, 경력동기, 관계동기, 이해동기, 가치동기를 내생변수로 친화성→자기보호동기, 친화성→경력동기, 신경증→경력동기, 친화성→관계동기, 친화성→이해동기, 친화성→가치동기, 신경증→가치동기, 외향성→가치동기의 경로가 유의하였으며, 자원봉사참여를 내생변수로 관계동기→자원봉사참여, 이해동기→자원봉사참여, 가치동기→자원봉사참여의 경로가 유의하였고, 자원봉사지속의지을 내생변수로 이해동기→자원봉사지속의지, 가치동기→자원봉사지속의지, 자봉참여→자원봉사지속의지의 경로가 유의하였다. 또한 유의한 직접효과를 중심으로 자원봉사동기의 매개효과를 검증하였으며, 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 호스피스 자원봉사자 참여활성화를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.
This study suggests hypothetic models and tests about the mediating effect of volunteer motivation which effects on the personal characteristic of hospice volunteer the participation level of volunteer activities and durability. Also, this study suggest a theoretical base for the seeking of hospice volunteer participation revitalization. This research participated 200 volunteers who attended the Autumn Conference in 2007 and 132 volunteers from five hospice organizations.
The summary of research results is that the volunteer motivation of self-protection, career, social, understanding and value are endogenous variable and the 8 paths of Agreeable->self-protection, Agreeable->career, Neuroticism->career, Agreeable->social, Agreeable->understanding, Agreeable->value, Neuroticism->value, Extroversion->value valid. The path of social motivation->the participation level of volunteer activities, understanding motivation -> the participation level of volunteer activities, value motivation->the participation level of volunteer activities are valid in the participation level of volunteer activities as an endogenous variable. The path of understanding motivation -> the durability level of volunteer activities, value motivation -> the durability level of volunteer activities, the participation level of volunteer activities -> the durability level of volunteer activities are valid in the durability level of volunteer activities as an endogenous variable. Also, this study test the mediating effect an attended direct effect as the central figure and based on the these results, the revitalizations of hospice volunteer participant are suggested as an proposal.
