본 연구는 유아가 같은 주제의 한국화와 서양화를 대조적으로 보고 느낀 점을 자유롭게 이야기 나누는 감상활동과 통합한 미술표현활동이 유아의 정서지능과 미술표현력에 미치는 효과를 규명하는데 목적을 두었다. 연구대상은 W시에 소재한 2개 공립유치원의 만 5세반 각각 1학급 유아 20명씩으로 총 40명(남 19명, 여 21명)으로 그 중 1학급은 실험집단, 나머지 학급은 비교집단으로 임의 배정하였다. 실험집단 교사는 한국화와 서양화의 비교감상과 통합한 미술표현활동 프로그램을 실시하였다. 반면 비교집단 교사는 감상활동 없이 표현 위주의 전통적 미술활동 프로그램을 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 독립표본 t-test로 검증하였다. 연구결과 한국화와 서양화의 비교감상과 통합한 미술표현활동이 유아의 정서지능 구성 요소인 자기인식 능력, 자기조절 능력, 타인인식 능력, 타인조절 능력의 증진과 미술표현력의 구성 요소인 색, 형태, 공간구도의 증진에 긍정적인 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study is to investigate what effects integrated art activities with art appreciation of traditional Korean paintings and Western paintings under the same theme have on developing young children's emotional intelligence and artistic expression.
The major research questions are as follows:1. Will integrated art activities through comparison of appreciation between traditional Korean painting and Western painting improve young children's emotional intelligence?2. Will integrated art activities through comparison of appreciation between traditional Korean painting and Western painting improve young children's artistic expression?While the experimental group did art activities with appreciating traditional Korean paintings and Western paintings through comparison, the control group did just art activities without appreciation.
According to the result of this study, integrated art activities with art appreciation through comparing traditional Korean paintings and Western paintings, are shown to have effects on improving emotional intelligence such as awareness of self emotion, management of self emotion, emotional awareness of others, emotional management of others, and artistic expressions such as color, shape and space composition.
