환경 그림책을 활용한 통합적 활동이 유아의 환경어휘력, 환경보전지식 및 태도의 향상에 미치는 효과
The Effects of Environmental Picture Book Activities on Improvement of Young Children's Vocabulary, Knowledge and Attitude about Environmental Preservation
본 연구는 환경 그림책을 활용한 통합적 교육 활동이 유아의 환경어휘력, 환경보전지식 및 태도의 향상에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 수행되었다. 서울 C어린이집 만 3세반의 유아들을 대상으로 각 15명씩의 실험집단과 통제집단을 구성하였고, 실험집단에 대해 12주 동안 환경 그림책을 활용한 통합적 교육 활동을 시행하였다. 처치는 만 3세 유아들에게 적합한 수준의 환경 그림책을 선정하여 매주 읽어주고, 내용과 연관된 통합적 접근의 사후활동을 실시하는 방법으로 이루어졌다. 두 집단의 사전-사후검사 간 차이를 살펴보기 위하여 공변량 분석을 실시한 결과, 실험집단 유아들이 통제집단에 비해 모든 변인에서 유의하게 높은 수준을 보였다. 즉, 환경 그림책을 활용한 통합적 활동은 유아의 환경어휘력, 환경보전지식, 환경보전태도의 향상에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
This study was performed to develop early childhood educational activities using environmental picture books and examine its effects on young children's vocabulary, knowledge and attitude about environmental preservation. Thirty 3-year-old children were divided into the experimental group and the control group at a child care center in Seoul. Children in the experimental group carried out post-activities with the integrative approach, related to the contents of designated picture books on environment, after being read aloud totally for 12 weeks. As a result of analysis, the participants showed significantly higher level in all the variables compared to the control group. In other words, the environmental picture book activities was indicated to have effects on improvement of young children's environmental vocabulary, knowledge and attitude about environmental preservation.
