본 연구에서는 다문화가정을 위한 이중언어지원 프로그램이 아동 및 가족에게 미치는 효과를 사업유형별로 비교하여 분석하고자 했다. 즉, 동일한내용의 이중언어지원 프로그램이지만 교사가 전달하는 ‘교사지원형 사업’과다문화가정 어머니가 전달하는‘부모주도형 사업’에 따라 효과성이 다르게나타나는지 분석하였다. 2013년 4월부터 2014년 2월까지 전국 공모사업에참여한 153가구의 204명의 아동과 153명의 어머니에 대하여 프로그램 참여전후에 조사를 수행했다. 분석결과 성별과 연령을 통제한 상태에서도 아동의 모어 듣기 능력이 유의미하게 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 가족산물의 경우, 모의 교육수준과 거주기간을 통제한 상태에서도 이중언어 환경 특성,어머니의 양육효능감과 양육참여, 모-아 상호작용에서 모두 유의미하게 향상되었다. 사업유형별로 살펴보면, 아동의 듣기능력은 교사지원형이 부모주도형보다 크게 향상되었으며, 가족산물은 부모주도형이 교사지원형보다 현저한 향상을 보였다.
This study evaluates the effectiveness of a bilingual home-environment program foryoung children from multicultural families, focusing on children outcomes and familyoutcomes. Specifically, effectiveness by different sub-types of the program, the‘teacher-supported’ model and the ‘parent-centered’ model were compared. A sampleof 204 children from 153 families and their mothers who participated in the programfrom April 2013 to February 2014 was surveyed. Findings are as follows: Children’slistening skills significantly improved at the post-test evaluation. Family outcomes suchas bilingual home-environment, mother’s parenting efficacy and parenting participation,and parent-child interaction showed significant improvement. By sub-type of theprogram, ‘teacher-supported’ model led to more improvement in children’s listeningoutcome than the ‘parent-centered’ model, whereas ‘parent-centered’ model showedsignificantly higher improvements in family outcomes compared to the ‘teachersupported’model.
