본 연구는 카지노 주변 도박관련 체류자들의 실태 확인 후 이들을 위한 사회복지적 지원 방안을 모색하는 연구이다. 이를 위해 체류자를 대상으로 한 실태조사 및 심층면접조사, 도박중독관련 전문가 FGI를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 체류자들은 도박으로 인해 이혼 및 별거하고 있는 경우가 많으며, 원가족과의 연락정도도 많지 않고, 체류기간도 장기화되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 주거의 질과 안정성이 매우 낮고, 우울장애가 심각하며, 자살에 쉽게 노출된 상황으로 파악되었다. 이와 같은 조사결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 체류자 지원방안을 제시하였고, 이를 위한 국가, 사행산업체, 민간복지기관 등 도박중독관련 주체들의 역할에 대한 제언을 하였다. 본 연구 결과는 우리나라의 도박중독 관련 예방？치유？재활 사업의 방향을 제시하고, 카지노 인근 지역 체류자들의 지원을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
This study aims to understand the reality of gambling-related stayers around casino and seek a social welfare support plan for them. For the foregoing, this study conducted a survey on the reality, in-depth interview targeting stayers and carried out F.G.I. with experts related to gambling addiction. Survey results show that many stayers got divorced and are separated due to gambling, lacking in information to contact their original family and the period of stay has been extended. Results also indicate that the quality and stability of their residence are very low, and they are suffering from severe depressive disorder, being exposed easily to suicide. Based on the survey results, this study suggested a support plan for such stayers, and provided implications on the role of main agents related to gambling addiction such as nation, gambling industries, private welfare organizations etc. Results of this study suggest direction for prevention？healing？rehabilitation projects of our country related to gambling addiction, and are expected to be used as preliminary data for supporting stayers in the surrounding areas of casino.
