Most of the domestic studies conducted on the elderly using the social capital scale use the foreign scale as it is, or amend or supplement it. The purpose of this study is to develop the social capital which is embedded in social network or social network and to verify the validity of developed social capital scale. Because the members living in the same culture show similar attitudes and attitudes, it can be said that there is a desperate need to study the social capital of the elderly in Korea. In order to do this, the study examined the components of the elderly social capital scale through a literature review and developed a preliminary social capital scale consisting of 20 preliminary questions in five areas that were firstly verified by content validity through Group Interview focusing on elderly welfare professionals. Then the preliminary questionnaire was surveyed for elderly people aged 65 and over, followed by exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, and convergent and discriminant validity was verified to complete the Korean elderly social capital scale consisting of 14 items in four areas. The results of this study are different from those of the previous studies that the Korean elderly social capital scale has been verified and developed variously and it will be used as a useful tool when studying social capital in the elderly in the future.
