Determinants of the Korean Multicultural Exclusive Attitude: An Analysis Using Hierarchical Linear Model

초록
본 연구는 다문화 배제 태도에 영향을 주는 결정요인을 다층분석틀과 다층모형으로 실증 검증하고, 그에 따른 이론적 함의와 정책적 함의를 모색하고자 하였다.
연구방법은 2003 KGSS 조사 자료를 기초로 다층모델(Hierarchical Linear Model)을 기초모형, 연구모형으로 구성하여 결정요인을 검증하였다.
연구결과는 먼저, 기초모형에서 추정된 지역 간 다문화 배제 태도는 통계적으로 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 연구모형 중 평균모형에서 지역적으로 낮은 최저 생계비를 지닌 지역, 즉 대도시에서 농어촌으로 갈수록 다문화 배제 태도가 정(+)적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.
ANCOVA 연구모형에서 사회적 계층의식이 낮을수록, 사회적으로 불공정하다는 개인일수록, 한국인 자부심이 높은 사람일수록, 다문화 적응방식이 소수민족이 수용국가 전체사회에 적응하고 섞이는 방식을 선호할수록, 그리고 개인 가치유형에는 가치요인(1)(자기-개선), 가치요인 (3)이 높을수록, 가치 요인(2)(변화에 대한 개방성)이 낮을수록, 가치 요인(4)(자기-초월)가 높을수록 다문화 배제 태도에 통계적으로 유의미하게 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
향후 다문화 배제 태도에 따른 다문화 사회의 갈등에 대비한 정책적 대안에 이러한 결정요인의 영향이 고려되어야 할 것이다.
The purpose of this study aims to empirically analyze determinants of korean multicultural exclusive attitude and to explore the meaning of theoretical frame and social integration policy.
For this, I used data from the 2003 KGSS and analyzed the data by adopting hierarchical linear research models consisted of unconditional model and conditional model.
The results show that in unconditional model, the data analysis method for the hierarchically structured data, to look at the factors that affect on the korean multicultural exclusive attitude, is proved as appropriate method.
In conditional model, it is estimated that lower area of minimum living cost, lower social class, social unjustice attitude, higher korean pride, favor of cutural mixing strategy, higher self-enhancement value, lower openness to change value, and higher self-transcendence value, are statistically proved as positive(+) influence factors to multicultural exclusive attitude.
Based on these results, future the social integration policy of multiculture should be prepared for the potential conflict of multicultural exclusive attitude.
